We all know the feeling of having something on our minds that we have a difficult time letting go of. Similar to an image or a catchy song that gets stuck in our head, com - monly called an earworm, negative thoughts can be very difficult to remove and the more we replay them the more familiar they become.

Early voting underway in local elections

Early voting began Monday, April 22 for municipal, school board and various bond elections. It ends on April 30 with Saturday, May 4 being election day. What is on the ballot depends on where you live.

Sales tax pause on emergency supplies, April 27-29

As we enter the severe weather season, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar reminds Texans they can purchase certain items tax free during the state’s sales tax holiday for emergency preparation supplies, which begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, and ends at midnight on Monday, April 29.

Meadowlakes hires firm to manage, construct facility

City of Meadowlakes At the April 16 city council meeting, the city authorized the city manager to solicit bids that will be used to hire a “Construction Manager At Risk” (or CMAR) to manage and construct the city’s community center and the related infrastructure improvements. “Design-bid-build” is the traditional model that cities, industries and individuals use for a construction project, whether it’s a new building or a new cement plant.] In the “design-bid-build” concept, there is no relationship between the design firm and the construction firm.

Artists to paint for library patrons

The Marble Falls Public Library at 101 Main Street will treat the public to a free, hour-long “live art” Art Reception on Friday, April 19, from 3 to 4 p.m. While watching painters Kim Roberti and Jennifer Hess paint, patrons can enjoy live music, meet and speak with the artists on display and purchase local art for sale.
