On the afternoon of March 21, a vehicle crashed into the storefront of a Marble Falls jewelry store.

The incident happened around lunch time in front of the Salem Center strip mall.

“A 69-year-old female was pulling into a parking spot in front of Salem’s Jewelry, located at 518 US Hwy 281,” according to the statement from Marble Falls Police Department. “The driver’s foot became lodged between the floor mat and the accelerator causing the vehicle to jump the sidewalk.

“The vehicle came to rest against the front door and outside wall of the building,” the statement continued. “No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Building inspectors were called to the scene.”

Store owners temporarily closed the business to customers as a crew worked to repair the glass on the front door window.

"No significant struc tural damage was reported,” the MFPD statement read.
