Love is in the air! Fall Creek Vineyards in Tow invites you to enjoy a
romantic lunch for two in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on Lake Buchanan,
Saturday, Feb. 11, or Sunday, Feb. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dine in
the lavish winery and vineyards while enjoying a delicious three-course meal
prepared by nationally acclaimed Chef Rebecca Rather. Please phone the
winery at 325.379.5361 to make your reservations for this Valentine's
Day. How about a movie? Would you like to see a movie and know it's
helping someone? Highland Lakes Respite Center, a program of Methodist
Healthcare Ministries, will receive all profits from the Driftwood Theater
the entire day of Feb. 6. The Highland Lakes Respite Program allows
caregivers a break from the daily duties of caring for their loved one with
Alzheimer's. The clients will spend time in a faith-based program with
planned activities supervised by trained volunteers. The Center is still
accepting clients for this program. If you are interested, or need
additional information please call Diane at 325.388.3035. The featured film,
"When a Stranger Calls," will begin at 7:35 p.m. and be sure to
bring your family and friends to enjoy this exciting movie and to help a
worthy cause. The Driftwood Theater is located in Marble Falls next to
Wal-Mart. For more information call the Movie Hotline at 830.798.8436. Avoid
Identity Theft Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the
country. Learn how identity theft occurs, how to minimize your risk and what
to do if you're a victim. Also, learn about associated fraud crime once
your identity had been taken and where to get help. This free program is
being offered at the Lakeshore Library located at 7346 Hwy. 261 in Buchanan
Dam. Nancy Gresham, outreach coordinator from the Office of the Attorney
General will be the speaker on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m. For more
information please call Mary Warren at the Library 325.379.1174. Walk
through Time The Nightengale Archaeological Center is the only archeological
site interpreted for the public along the Colorado River. The center
consists of exhibit areas to showcase artifacts, field school excavation
units on display, and an interpretive trail, which allows visitors to
"walk through time." To date artifacts that have been uncovered at
the Kingsland site include flint tools, spear points, arrowheads, and
grinding stones. Stone lined cooking hearths and bone fragments from deer,
rabbit and buffalo have also been uncovered. The Nightengale Archaeological
Center will be open to the public for guided tours on the second and fourth
Saturday of each month from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are
