Parks & Rec seeks sponsors for Spring Break

December 03, 2012, 5:30 pm by Adam Troxtell

The Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking Marble Falls businesses to help sponsor Spring Break 2013 activities.

For many years, the Commission has sponsored a week of free events for children in town who stay local during Spring Break, which falls on March 11 through 15 next year.

After the first of the year, commissioners will visit local businesses who have had past involvement in Spring Break seeking their support. The effort was the main topic of discussion during the Commission’s regular meeting on Monday. Parks and Recreation Director Robert Moss has already sent out letters to various businesses, and the meetings will be a follow up.

"We’ll set a date, probably the first week of January, and do some walk-ins,” said Commissioner Leta Stevenson-Smith, who is leading the sponsorship effort.
