Nursery donating trees to needy

December 13, 2012, 6:15 pm by Adam Troxtell

After the rush for Christmas trees, Backbone Valley Nursery in Marble Falls is giving away the ones they have to households in need of a complete holiday.

This is the second year Backbone Valley has donated trees to those in need. Today and through the weekend, they will be taking nominations for families who could use one.

"Starting Friday we’re asking people to nominate a family they know of, and after the weekend we’ll look at the nominations and see who we can give one to,” Jessica Robertson, co-owner of Backbone Valley, said. "Nobody likes waste, so we want to see the trees go to someone in need.”

Those interested in nominating a family can call Backbone Valley at 903.693.9348.
