Burglar takes two packs of cigarettes

A Granite Shoals resident was arrested on charges of burglary after he allegedly was found with merchandise believed to be stolen from Big D Food Mart in Marble Falls.

Gabriel Anthony Dorado, 22, was taken into custody and reportedly confessed to the burglary following an incident at Big D’s convenient store at 1606 RR 1431 Tuesday morning, said Marble Falls Police. At 4:38 a.m., officers responded to the convenience store regarding a security alarm. Police said that responding officers found the front glass door broken, but upon entering the business, found no one.

According to police, after reviewing security video footage, officers learned that the suspect took four packs of cigarettes, and dropped two as he made a hasty exit from the store. Police isolated an image of the suspect and the direction that he had left the store. Sergeant Robert Talamantes and officers Dorian Turner and Robert Weldon responded to the 1600 block of Ninth Street in attempt to locate the suspect. Police said that muddy footprints led the officers to an upstairs apartment where the suspect could be seen through the front window sleeping on a couch with what was believed to be stolen merchandise.
