C'Shores amends lot size ordinance
Cottonwood Shores Mayoral candidate Donald Orr expresses concerns about the lot size ordinance amendment to councilmembers and Cottonwood Shores residents in a public hearing Thursday.

In a meeting Thursday, Cottonwood Shores Council approved an amendment to the city zoning ordinance that would increase the minimum lot size to 10,000 square feet.

The amendment, which was discussed in a public hearing during the regular council meeting, would not affect properties that were in Cottonwood proper, council said.

"If you already own a subdivided lot, it’s grandfathered,” said City Attorney Alan Petrov. "This change affects future subdivisions over time. New properties must come into compliance with the new regulation.”
