Patton’s place to go Italian

Patton’s place to go Italian
Work has begun on the old Patton’s On Main restaurant building as its new owners turn it into Forno’s On Main, which will serve Italian and mixed cuisine.

After over four years of vacancy, the location of the old Patton’s On Main restaurant is finally seeing some activity after a Houston couple snapped it up.

Waleed Shubber and his wife, Jo, will bring Forno’s On Main, an Italian and mixed cuisine restaurant, to the location at 201 Main St. within the next few months. The Shubbers have just begun fixing the old Patton’s building up, so they don’t have an exact date for opening. They are hoping to begin operating by early summer, Jo Shubber said.

"It’s critical for what we want downtown,” Christian Fletcher, Economic Development Corporation Executive Director, said about the location.

So, they truly think they can compete with 2 other Italian cuisine restaurants? I give it less than a year. Our town doesn't need another Italian restaurant.
