Junior golfer paces Lady Mustangs young team

Sam Offutt tees off for the Lady Mustangs golf team. Marble Falls finished eighth among 12 teams in the 4A division of the Marble Falls Spring Classic. The tournament was Friday at Hidden Falls in Meadowlakes and Saturday at the Slick Rock course in Horseshoe Bay.

Marble Falls junior Amy Hendrix shot personal tournament best rounds of 92 and 91 to lead the Lady Mustangs at the Marble Falls Spring Classic golf tournament Friday and Saturday.

Hendrix closed with a 91 on Horseshoe Bay’s Slick Rock golf course to pace the Lady Mustangs, who had 10 golfers in the field. Hendrix had a 92 at Meadowlakes’ Hidden Falls course on Friday.

Marble Falls A team finished eighth overall in the 12-team Class 4A division of the tournament. The Lady Mustangs top five were Hendrix, Victoria Gomez (91-103:194), Sam Offutt (108-99:207), Breanna Heinzke (102-110:212) and Blaire Hambrick (118-112:230)

Marble Falls had five girls shoot personal tournament best, including Hendrix, Offutt, Chloe Parnell, Kelsie Tackitt and Peyton Fishbeck.

On the second team, Shelcee Clark shot 100-93:193, Parnell (109-100:209), Tackitt (103-111:214), Fishbeck (112-119:231) and Megan Wooten (122-123:245).
