Lady Mustangs warm up for San Marcos Tournament

Amanda Thomas and Taylor Brackenridge combined for six kills each to lead the Marble Falls Lady Mustangs to a 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 victory over the Killeen Lady Eagles Tuesday in a non-district volleyball match.
Haley Coulter paced the offense with 16 assists and Lacie Long had 11 digs on the defensive side.
The team also was effective at the net on defense with blocks from Brackenridge two, Coulter two, Jackie Winn one and Thomas one.
Other statistical leaders were Hanna Wall with five kills, Shelby Wyatt with seven digs and Shelcee Clark with seven digs.
Brackenridge added two aces and Natalie Chapa and Sarah Lewis had solo aces.
"I am very proud of the performance of all of our teams tonight,’’ Marble Falls coach Julie Downs said. "We played as a cohesive unit, worked together to achieve victories and made plays when necessary. We are looking forward to the varsity participation in the Raging Rattler Tournament this weekend, this will allow us a chance to further establish a consistency in our play.’’
The match over Killeen Ellison was the third year in a row for the Lady Mustangs to play the Lady Eagles.
The junior varsity won, 25-22, 25-20; and the freshmen notched a 25-19, 25-17 victory.
