Fishing Club holds event on Lake LBJ

The Marble Falls High School Fishing Club will have its first home tournament of the new year Saturday.

Fifteen boats are scheduled for the tournament. Anglers will meet at 6:30 a.m. at the LBJ Yacht Club and Marina to start the tournament.

Weigh-in is 2 p.m.

On Monday, the club had a "standing room only’’ club meeting at Edwards Risk Management office.

"It’s so wonderful to see the continued growth in our club and our ability to reach out to the students in our area to share this experience,’’ said Lorna Ellis, one of the organizers of the club.

Anglers are reminded to bring the following items Saturday:

PFD - personal flotation device/life jacket

Coveralls or other warm layers you can peel off

Fishing Tackle

Fishing license (age 17 and over)

Snacks and beverages for the boat

$10 fuel stipend per student for your boat captain (if not your family member)
