Marble Falls loses another chance to clinch

Marble Falls dropped its second straight chance to clinch a playoff in District 25-4A girls basketball Friday night, falling 57-46 to the Vandegrift Vipers at Max Copeland Gym.

Marble Falls (19-13, 5-6) falls into two-way tie with Cedar Park for fourth place in the district.

Cedar Park, which Marble Falls beat a week ago, climbed to 5-6 in district Friday night with a 56-44 win over Rouse.

Rouse closed its regular season with a 6-6 record and stands a game ahead of both Marble Falls and Cedar Park for the third playoff spot.

Marble Falls closes the regular season with district unbeaten Vista Ridge on the road Tuesday. Cedar Park closes with Vandegrift (3-8 in district).

Marble Falls fell by five points to Rouse on Tuesday night in a game that would have clinched the third playoff spot.

If Marble Falls and Cedar Park finished tied after Tuesday’s finales, they have to have a playoff since they split the district series with each other.
