Marble Falls’ defensive secondary will get one of its biggest tests this week when the Mustangs travel to Boerne to face the Boerne Champion Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at BISD Stadium.

Marble Falls throws the ball a lot. Boerne throws it more.

Senior quarterback Kyle Poeske threw for 577 yards in the Chargers’ opener against New Braunfels and then backed that up with a 321-yard outing against Dripping Springs.

"They throw it 71 percent and run it 29 percent,’’ said Marble Falls defensive coordinator Keith Hendrix, who watched the Mustangs pick off three passes last week.

Cody Seelig had a pair and Brian Shrubar added another pivotal interception in last week’s 51-34 shootout with Burnet at Marble Falls.
