He passed away on Jan. 29. Stiles called Eagle Lake home except the past 15 years when he and his wife Emily moved to Sunrise Beach. Stiles was elected the youngest County Commissioner in Texas at the age of 25. He served for 28 years representing the good people of Colorado County. He loved to travel and took his 8 children to 40 states on summer vacations. He retired at 53 and continued traveling to Europe, South America, and Mexico. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Emily Schott Stiles; eight wonderful children Schottsie and husband Lou Hill of Katy, Trudi and husband Richard Lyon of Houston, Patty and husband Robert Reitz of Friendswood, Andy and wife Therese Stiles of Madison, Wis., Melinda and husband Cary Hocker of Richland Hills, Louis and wife Teddi Stiles of Richland Hills, Kelly and Wilma Stiles of Waller, Texas, and Liz and husband Chris Bland of San Antonio; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Catherine and husband Jerry Jax of Houston, and Dolly and husband Joe Korenek of Houston; and many nieces and nephews. |
