Martinez was born on Sept. 14, 1933 in New Braunfels to Samuel and Cuca Perez Martinez, and died on Feb. 10 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was carpenter by trade and worked for Hoover Builders for many years. He married the love of his life Ernestina Luevano on May 27, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife Tina Martinez of 60 years; sons Johnny Martinez and family, Jesse Martinez and family, Robert Martinez and family, and Jimmy Martinez and family; daughters Rosie Ornellas and family, Bea Tumlinson and family, and Margie Carr and family; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Daniel Martinez.
Those serving as pallbearers are Jesse Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Robert Martinez, Jimmy Martinez, Joshua Carr and Christopher Carr.
