Carlos W. Pierce Aug. 20, 1946 ~ Feb. 3, 2013February 06, 2013, 9:09 am by Staff Reports
Pierce graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colo., and attended East Texas State University and San Diego State University where he studied accounting. He entered the Army Reserves in 1969 and served through 1974 in Colorado and Texas. He married Kathryn (Kay) Convery in 1970 and they had two sons, Patrick and Gregory. In 1975, the couple opened a Motorcycle Dealership in Lake Jackson, Texas, which they owned for more than 20 years. They then retired to Austin and later Sugarland. The Pierces bought a ranch and moved to Burnet in 2001, where they have enjoyed living in the Hill Country. He worked at Inks Lake State Park, and loved to played golf whenever he could. Pierce was always ready to help his friends, neighbors and strangers alike. He always saw the good in people... he felt everyone had something to offer. He was a great friend to everyone he met and no one ever stayed a stranger around him. Pierce is survived by wife Kay; sons Patrick of Austin, and Gregory and wife Theresa of Grapevine; grandchildren Ethan, Ella, Madeline and Connor; brother Carlton and wife Barbara; sisters Jan and Debbie, and their spouses; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A visitation and wake was held Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet at 6 p.m. Memorials in his memory may be made to your favorite charity or organization. Condolences may be offered to www.clementswilcoxburnet.com. Arrangements were made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home and Crematory in Burnet. |
