Elizabeth Whitehead, 74, of Lorena, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Feb. 19 2013.
A private memorial service for close friends and family will be held at a later date. Thoughts

Whitehead was born to William and Pauline (Young) Patterson on Nov. 5, 1938 in Chico, Calif. Throughout her life, she was a strong supporter of animal rights, and supported the Meals on Wheels organization. She also extended her love to others through her work with hospice in Corpus Christi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Donna Poer.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Hudson and husband Rickey of Lorena; son John Whitehead and wife Patricia of Buchanan Dam; brother Charles Moran and wife Susan of Corpus
Christi; grandsons Ryan Hudson and wife Bethany of Round Rock, Travis Hudson of Irving, Justin Whitehead of Big Foot, and John Whitehead of Buchanan Dam; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in her honor to any of the following organizations: American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; American Heart Association, www.
heart.org; Fuzzy Friends Rescue of Waco, www.fuzzyfriendsrescue.com; or any animal rights organization of your choice.
