City Council Update: Housing rehabilitation, energy rates

Marble Falls City Council had a full plate going into their meeting Tuesday evening with items from contract renewals, to energy rates, to construction projects. 

Council approved the award of a housing rehabilitation contract under the Amy Barrier Removal Program, which repairs the homes of needy families, and approved the final plat for the Villa dal Lago condos at 901 FM2147.  Approval of the final plat allows the city to issue building permits to the developer, Seguin Affordable Housing.

Lifeguard revives boy at Burnet pool

A five-year-old Burnet boy was believed to be in good condition after being revived by a Galloway-Hammond recreation center lifeguard who pulled him from one of the facility’s swimming pools Monday after he had apparently been under water for approximately two minutes.

LCRA staff to ask for drought order extension

AUSTIN — The staff of the Lower Colorado River Authority will ask its board of directors today to approve another extension of the current emergency drought order that curtails water for rice farmers in the river’s lower basin, the authority’s key water operations official said Tuesday.

Bertram Meals on Wheels to continue

The Williamson-Burnet County Opportunities has received enough funds in charitable donations since last week to extend Meals on Wheels service to 13 residents in the Bertram area through Sept. 30.

Early morning showers bring almost three inches to Buchanan Dam

MFISD considers test results, House Bill Five

Water district votes to give funds to ESD 8

Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District directors voted Friday to give an emergency services district in the northeast part of Burnet County $16,000 to buy a 31,000-gallon tank for a rainwater collection system.
