Shipley signs with Jacksonville

Former Burnet Bulldog and University of Texas Longhorn, Jordan Shipley, signed to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 20. Shipley has played in 18 NFL games since his third-round draft in 2010.

During his rookie year he led all first-year players with 52-catches for 600-yards. His NFL career stats stood at 56-receptions for 614-yards and three touchdowns before joining the Jaguars.

He caught one pass for 24-yards in his Jacksonville debut on Sunday, Nov. 25 and the Jaguars defeated Tennessee, 24-19. Shipley will wear the number 16 jersey.

Flames lose 38-12 to Sacred Heart

Faith Academy ended its inaugural 11-man football season Friday night, falling to defending state champion Hallettsville Sacred Heart 38-12 in the second round of the TAPPS Division III playoffs.

Faith Academy opens playoffs Friday

Faith Academy plays Houston Cypress Christian at 7 p.m. Friday at Pony Stadium in Marble Falls.
The Flames are 10-0 and won their district championship to earn the right to play the home TAPPS playoff game.

Flames improve to 9-0 with blowout win

Faith Academy rolled to a 62-13 win over Texas Christian of Waco Friday night behind a four-touchdown performance from Brian Freeman in Waco.

Marble Falls plays tough, but loses

Marble Falls defense bowed its neck Friday night and played its best game of the season. The improved play wasn’t good enough to earn the team’s first District 25-4A win of the season.

The Mustangs lost, 35-19, to Vista Ridge at Gupton Stadium despite some inspired play on defense against the district’s leading rusher Stedman Mayberry.

Llano's Morgan stands tall for Jackets

 LAMPASAS – Llano’s Zach Morgan dropped Lampasas quarterback Kleg Kennedy for a 10-yard loss on a fourth-and-five play with three seconds left in the game to seal a 20-13 victory for the Yellow Jackets Friday night.
