Richard C. “Mac” McDaniel Jan. 6, 1924 n March 24, 2006 Richard C.
“Mac” McDaniel, 82, of Buchanan Dam, died March 24, 2006, after a
courageous battle with cancer. A rosary was recited Sunday at the Putnam
Funeral Home Chapel and a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday at
St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Reverend Joseph C. Mitrano
officiating. Interment was March 27 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in
Pflugerville. Born to Dan Clinton and Estelle (Piper) McDaniel Jan. 6, 1924,
in Burnet County, he was the eldest of 11 children. After graduating from
Bertram High School, he entered the United States Air Force and proudly
served from 1943 to 1950. He married Elsie Matlock, of Granger, Jan. 14,
1946, in Austin. He lived in Central Texas most of his life and was a
retired LVN. His favorite hobbies were fishing, playing 42, gardening and
dancing, especially polka. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter,
Beth McDaniel, daughter-in-law, Shirley McDaniel, two grandchildren, sister,
Gail Coats, and his fishing buddy, Ann Mecom. Survivors include: his wife of
60 years, Elsie McDaniel of Buchanan Dam; sons Danny McDaniel and his wife
Susanne, Richard McDaniel and his wife Bonnie of Pflugerville, Tommy
McDaniel of Manor; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers
Alton McDaniel and his wife Chris of Kempner; L.D. “Bud” McDaniel and
wife Carmen of San Benito, W.O. McDaniel and wife Patty of Granite Shoals,
Jimmie McDaniel and wife Kathy of Bertram, Morris McDaniel of Bertram;
sisters Vernell Dodson and husband David of Belton, Reta Whitley, Dixie
Westin, and Aldeen Smith, all of Bertram, and numerous nieces, nephews, and
friends.

- Rene McDaniel ~ Rene McDaniel, age 81, of Burnet passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005. Rene was born on Robert Ward and Maurene Sanford Ward in Rockdale, Texas. She worked in the aerospace industry as a statistician. It was here job to do the cost analysis on every fighter jet that Northrop Aircraft made for over 32 years. She is also know as the buffalo lady as she loved and collected buffalos.
